Dr. Boris Getman
Overview
My initial interest in medicine was rooted in its scientific nature. After completing medical school, I pursued a career in pathology, a field that bridges basic science and clinical medicine to support tough clinical decisions. However, during my training in pathology, I started to miss directly caring and advocating for patients. My strong desire to return to clinical medicine compelled me to complete a second residency in family medicine. As a family medicine doctor, I appreciate the privilege of taking care of patients while continuing to achieve my personal career goals. My goals include taking care of patients of all ages, developing a better understanding of complex disease processes, having long-term relationships with patients, and serving as my patients’ advocate within a complicated and ever-changing medical system. Born in Moscow, Russia, I spent most of my life in California and West Virginia. My interests outside of primary care include reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family.
