Sandeep Bagla is an Interventional Radiologist and President of Prostate Centers USA. He has been practicing for nearly 20 years and his particular area of focus is using embolization to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, which is also known as Enlarged Prostate. Dr. Bagla uses embolization to slow down blood flow to the prostate, which causes the prostate to shrink. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology and licensed to treat patients in Virginia. Dr. Abhishek Srinivas received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2006. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 2011. This was followed by a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2012. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins as faculty, Dr. Srinivas established an interventional oncology practice serving much of central New Jersey, and a local hub for patients affiliated with Hahnemann University Hospital’s liver transplant program in Philadelphia. During this time, Dr. Srinivas was also part of the neuroradiology team for the hospital’s stroke center. His primary areas of expertise include interventional oncology (liver, kidney and bone cancers), vascular disease (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, aneurysm treatment), uterine fibroid embolization, spine interventions, and advanced biliary interventions. Andrew Akman, MD, MBA a native of Washington, DC, currently practices at Suburban Hospital, Sibley Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Akman performs a variety of minimally invasive procedures. He has specific interest in complex IVC filter removals, interventional oncology, pulmonary embolism, and prostate artery embolization. Dr. Akman is an expert in complex IVC filter retrieval and IVC filter related complications. In addition to standard IVC filter retrievals, he removes devices that are severely tilted, embedded, or fractured, as well as those designated as permanent devices. He serves as an adviser to other physicians on complex techniques including laser sheath and forceps assisted retrieval. Within interventional oncology, Dr. Akman performs thermal ablation of lung, liver, and kidney tumors. He performs chemoembolization and radioembolization (Yttrium-90) on primary liver cancer and metastatic liver disease. Dr. Akman also performs prostate artery embolization, an emerging minimally invasive technique for treating urinary symptoms associated with prostate enlargement.
