Overview
Philosophy of care | I believe that practitioners need to advocate for their patients' wishes and give them all of the information and resources needed to make well informed decisions in their health care. | Why I entered medicine | My biggest influence in my career choice comes from personal experience with family members and friends who have had serious medical problems. I wanted to know more about what was wrong with them, and how medicine could help them heal and recover. I also have three other nurses in my family, as well as a physical therapist. | Community involvement | I have volunteered for community flu vaccine programs and to provide blood pressure screenings. | Personal interests | I have three children at home, who keep me busy when I am outside the hospital. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, hiking and biking. I also enjoy do-it-yourself projects around the house, and I love to paint! My husband recently bought me a set of golf clubs, but I have yet to master this skill.
