Dr. Brenda M. Orozco
Overview
Known for her compassion and leadership, Brenda Matti-Orozco, MD, is board-certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. She is the founding chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine of Morristown Medical Center and medical director of the hospital’s Nancy & Skippy Weinstein’s Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Dr. Matti is also director of Internal Medicine Faculty Associates (IMFA), a physician practice of Atlantic Medical Group, and an associate director of Atlantic Hospice. Additionally, she serves as medical director of the palliative care program at Chilton Medical Center and current chair of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization board.As a fellow of the American College of Physicians with board-certification in both hospice and palliative medicine as well as internal medicine, Dr. Matti has been helping patients and families navigate living with serious illness and end-of-life care for more than two decades. She is a strong advocate for patients’ needs and inspires her staff to do the same. A seasoned mentor that is both educator and clinician, Dr. Matti has utilized her American Hospital Association’s Health Care Transformation Fellowship to drive change and innovation in medicine and health care delivery while providing direct care as a general internist and palliative care specialist in both outpatient and inpatient settings.Her professional career has been defined by the pursuit of excellence in patient care and health service delivery systems across the continuum of aging, health, and illness. Since joining Atlantic Health System in 2015, she has been instrumental in the transformation of primary care internal medicine into an advanced model that is patient-centered and value-based, and in bringing innovation to clinical education, training, research, and in improving the quality of care of patients with serious illness and those near the end of life.
