Head And Neck Surgery Cancer Program
Dr. Patrick Ha is chief of the UCSF Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. His expertise in patient care covers the full scope of head and neck surgery, with a focus on thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as endoscopic approaches to throat cancer surgery. Ha's research is currently focused on molecular changes that occur in adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary gland. Ha received an undergraduate degree in biology from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude. He obtained his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, graduating with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his residency training and a postdoctoral fellowship at the otolaryngology department of Johns Hopkins, along with advanced fellowship training in head and neck oncologic surgery. Ha serves on the editorial board of several medical journals, including Oral Oncology. He is the Irwin Mark Jacobs and Joan Klein Jacobs Distinguished Professor in Head and Neck Cancer.
