Philosophy of care | While growing up, I was the oldest of seven siblings and often took on a caretaker role. In high school I shadowed health care providers in a local hospital and was fascinated by the role of a physician. I thought what better job could there be than to help people every day? I love working with kids and am forever amazed by their resiliency, which is what drew me to pediatrics. | Why I entered medicine | I believe in well-rounded, compassionate care – taking the time to listen to families and their children even amid a busy emergency department. I aim to provide high quality care for any concern, while making connections with other specialists when needed to help patients navigate the health care system. | Community involvement | Throughout my training, I have worked with various free health clinics. This translated to the open approach in the emergency department, where all are welcomed. I have been involved in national injury prevention initiatives. I also enjoy teaching mindfulness and accessible yoga to the community. | Personal interests | I love traveling, hiking, exercising, yoga, trying new foods and spending time with family. I hope to make it to all the U.S. national parks one day!.
