Overview
My practice focuses on comprehensive, evidence-based weight management with an emphasis on long-term health. With a background in internal medicine, I take a whole-person approach that considers metabolic health, lifestyle factors and underlying conditions impacting weight. I prioritize creating a space where patients feel heard and respected. I most often work with adults managing their weight, particularly obesity, which is often associated with other conditions such as hypertension, osteoarthritis, diabetes, dyslipidemia and liver dysfunction. I’m especially passionate about working with people who may have struggled with weight in the past or felt discouraged by previous experiences. My professional associations include the Minnesota Association of Physician Assistants and the Minnesota Obesity Society. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is building trust and long-term relationships with people. Weight management is a deeply personal and often sensitive topic. I value taking the time to truly listen, understand each patient’s experience and meet them where they are. Creating that foundation of trust helps people feel more comfortable, stay engaged and feel encouraged throughout the process. My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe it’s essential to treat every patient as a whole person not just based on their numbers, and to recognize the complex factors that influence weight. I’m intentional about creating a safe, stigma-free environment where patients feel comfortable having open conversations about their health. By taking the time to listen and working together to develop realistic, sustainable plans, I aim to empower patients and support long-term progress.
