Caitlin Hartsgrove MD is a fellowship-trained physiatrist with Atlantic Medical Group. She is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) and brain injury medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Hartsgrove currently serves as the Section Chief of Traumatic Brain Injury at Morristown Medical Center. She believes in providing compassionate care to patients of all ages and restoring function to all following brain injuries.After earning her medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Hartsgrove completed her PM&R residency and brain injury medicine fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School / Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, where she was named clinical chief resident with educational tract distinction and received several other honors including the resident recognition award for contributing to peer wellness. She was also active with the neurorehabilitation journal club as a moderator and with the medical student mentorship program.Dr. Hartsgrove’s research includes outcomes in patients with hypoxic ischemic brain injuries, rehabilitation outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic, medical students’ knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act, among others. She is a coauthor of articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented multiple times at national scientific conferences. She has given grand rounds lectures to multiple institutions on the topics of disorders of consciousness and concussion management. She has also lectured on many topics including sports concussion, assistive devices, posttraumatic seizures and epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, and disorders of consciousness.Here at Atlantic Health, Dr. Hartsgrove provides care across the continuum of brain injuries, from the acute phase immediately following stroke or brain injury to the chronic phases with focus on optimizing function and quality of life. Some of Dr. Hartsgrove’s particular interests include tone and spasticity management, concussion management, spinal cord injury, as well as some general physiatry. She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
