
Overview
Dr. G. Caleb Alexander is an associate professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointment in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Alexander is a practicing general internist and pharmacoepidemiologist as well as the founding co-director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Drug Safety and Effectiveness. Internationally renowned for his research in prescription drug utilization, he chairs the Food and Drug Administration’s Peripheral and Central Nervous System Advisory Committee. Dr. Alexander earned his M.D. (Alpha Omega Alpha) at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an M.S. in health studies from the University of Chicago. Dr. Alexander joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2012. Dr. Alexander has authored more than 160 scientific articles and book chapters. He has served on the editorial boards of publications that include Drug Safety, Medical Care, Medical Decision Making, American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy and the Journal of General Internal Medicine.
