Candice Fox, NP

As a board-certified family nurse practitioner, Candice Fox, APRN, FNP-BC describes her approach to care as “family oriented, providing complete care to each patient with thorough discussion and collaboration of care with the patient.” This includes complete care for chronic conditions, acute care, health promotion and prevention measures. Fox has been providing care in that capacity since 2019, seeing patients ages 4 and older at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care.Fox points to her small-town roots as her inspiration for pursuing a career in health care. Patients and being part of their care, she said, is the best part of her job. “I have experienced firsthand the difficulty of obtaining care within a rural community. I began my career to help aid in bridging the care gap,” she said. “Before choosing this role, I knew I wanted to be part of a ministry that showed compassion and was family oriented in the care provided. I feel this is the path God has led me to take.”She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from University of the Cumberlands. Her areas of interest include chronic medical conditions, diabetes, hypertension, acne treatment and weight loss. Before becoming a family practice nurse, she spent 10 years in critical care and cardiac critical care. Outside of her nursing ministry, she said her children and family are ”the joys of my life,” and she enjoys spending quality time with them, as well as traveling and “experiencing life as much as possible.”.
