Overview
Philosophy of care | My philosophy is based on respect, compassion, empathy, encouragement and being present to help build relationships with patients. The basis of good care is being able to holistically assess and connect to another person. My ability to actively listen without judgment helps establish a trusting relationship and allow the best outcome for each patient. Factors that influence my philosophy reflect values I have in my personal life, such as strong family bonds and honest and present interpersonal relationships. Being able to communicate through these values allows for a sincere and caring relationship. Everyone needs someone to listen to and advocate for them so they can reach their maximum health potential and quality of life. | Why I entered medicine | I have had a calling to help others since childhood. I took my initial first aid course at 9 and have been working in health care since I became an adult. My goal has always been to provide care and education to help patients reach their highest state of health. | Personal interests | I enjoy time with my husband, our two daughters, our extended family and our fur babies. We enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking, as well as cooking and trying healthy new recipes. I have always enjoyed reading and learning, especially science.
