A native Houstonian, Dr. Charity Grannis graduated from the DeBakey High School for Health Professions and the University of Houston, where she double-majored in biology and Spanish. She earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and spent a post-graduate year in Houston Methodist Hospital’s transitional residency program. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Grannis has been in practice since 2010 and speaks fluent Spanish. She treats diplopia, cataracts, macular degeneration, Graves disease (thyroid eye disease), dermoid cyst, diabetes retinopathy, strabismus, chalazion (eyelid cysts), retinopathy of prematurity, congenital nystagmus, glaucoma, eye, pain and amblyopia (lazy eye).
