Overview
Dr. Chiao treats children and young adults up to age 18 for conditions such as:|Depression|Anxiety|Attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD)|Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)|Disruptive mood dysregulation disorders|Bipolar disorder and psychosis|Schizophrenia|Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)|Dr. Chiao also manages medications for patients to treat depression, anxiety and aggression in children.|“I enjoy working with children and teenagers and helping them navigate the ups and down of childhood,” she says. “Helping kids find their inner happiness and seeing them smile is the best reward.”|A native of New York, Dr. Chiao earned her Doctor of Osteopathy from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.|She says the inspiration to become a provider started at home. “I come from a family of doctors and was inspired by watching my mother medically care for others,” says Dr. Chiao. “I have always enjoyed helping others feel better.”|Before moving to Pennsylvania, Dr. Chiao was a three-time recipient of the “Top Doctor” award from Northern Virginia Magazine, a publication based in her former practice area.|She enjoys swimming, scootering, playing board games and having pillow fights with her two sons in her spare time.
