Overview
I decided to become a doctor so I could help people live healthy lives. As soon as I rotated through pediatrics in medical school, I knew it was my passion and what I wanted to do. I provide care for well and sick children, from newborns through adolescents. I especially love taking care of newborns and young children. For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a pediatrician is forming a relationship with my patients and their families over time, as well as guiding parents through the different stages and challenges of childhood. My goal is to always make my patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible throughout each visit and to ensure that parents understand and feel comfortable with the treatment plan. I have four boys who have made me a better person and pediatrician. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our boys, as well as running, traveling to the beach, and reading a good mystery book. I treat children and adolescents who have gained weight too quickly and have health problems associated with weight. My research focuses on helping children live their healthiest life possible through nutrition, activity, and engagement in community activities.
