A multidisciplinary collaborative approach that is attentive to the patient narrative is most effective at providing quality holistic care. | Why I entered medicine | I entered medical practice out of a desire to have a positive influence on the health care needs of others. The focus of my practice has evolved over the years, but that fundamental theme remains unchanged. | Community involvement | My professional community involvement includes work with legislators to improve access to care in Pennsylvania. My charity work includes Habitat for Humanity and decades of support of a pediatric diabetes camp known as Camp Setebaid in Union County. | Personal interests | My personal interests center around time with family. I gain the most enjoyment from outdoor activities, including kayaking, hiking, camping and mountain biking. I enjoyed hang gliding, but gave it up with the growth of my family. I find gardening to be a rewarding escape. My professional interests include exploring non-traditional ways of providing access to palliative care in rural hospitals lacking services.
