Daiji Kano, MD, is a fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in minimally invasive bariatric, hernia and gastrointestinal surgeries with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery, he has clinical expertise in several forms of bariatric surgery including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and revisional surgery using minimally invasive techniques for faster recovery with less pain. His advanced surgical techniques are effective for patients in need of intervention for obesity, acid reflux, hernias and other abdominal disorders.After earning his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Kano completed his surgical residency at the University of Arizona Banner University Medical Center Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ. He has served as a mentor to medical students and served on the admission committee for surgical residency. He completed specialized fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC, where he performed hundreds of complex surgical procedures. As a clinical assistant professor at Columbia University in NYC, he teaches residents and medical students at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ.Dr. Kano is multilingual, fluent in Japanese with limited proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish.
