Dr. Daniel C. Jaffurs is a board-certified UCI Health plastic surgeon who specializes in pediatric plastic surgery. His clinical interests include the treatment of cleft lip and palate, vascular and other pediatric congenital malformations, as well as the repair and reconstruction of adult facial trauma.He earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, where he also received a PhD in molecular genetics. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., where he received numerous accolades for teaching. He is the only surgical resident there to have received three Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Awards.Next, he completed a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, followed by fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.Jaffurs is keenly interested in the genetic causes of craniofacial abnormalities and the use of distraction osteogenesis for the treatment of various congenital defects. He is a member of many professional organizations, the author of numerous published papers and a frequent presenter on both clinical and basic science topics at national conferences.He sees patients in theCity of Orange.
