He completed his residency training at Duke LifePoint Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and a fellowship in Simulation Education and Research at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center – Clinical Simulation Center.|His professional interests include medical education, clinical simulation, motivational interviewing, nutrition, health policy and administration, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), HIV care, gender-affirming care and global health initiatives.|Dr. Bauza is also an assistant professor of family medicine at Geisinger College of Health Sciences, where he teaches medical students and other learners.|Before joining Geisinger, Dr. Bauza worked as a primary care physician in rural Cuba and participated in global health initiatives in Colombia and Venezuela.
