He also studies drivers of antibiotic overuse, with the aim of reducing the development of antibiotic-resistant organisms. Escobar earned his medical degree at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
