Overview
Daniel Gross, MD, specializes in the treatment of locally advanced and early-stage lung cancer, mediastinal tumors (such as thymoma, germ cell tumor, and paraganglioma), chest wall tumors (including chondrosarcoma and osteosarcoma), and esophageal cancer. Dr. Gross is also experienced in managing various benign esophageal conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux, achalasia, esophageal diverticulum, paraesophageal hernia, and hiatal hernia. He has additional expertise in treating thoracic outlet syndrome, performing thymectomy for Myasthenia Gravis, managing tracheal stenosis and tracheoesophageal fistula, as well as addressing pleural effusion, pneumothorax, rib fractures, chest wall injuries, diaphragmatic paralysis, and tumors.Dr. Gross believes in tailoring treatment plans to suit the unique goals and needs of each individual patient. When surgery is necessary, he leverages the latest technologies and minimally invasive techniques, including robotic surgery, to enhance safety, reduce scarring, alleviate pain, and expedite patients' return to a healthy life.Dr. Gross completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Binghamton. He then pursued his medical degree at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, followed by a general surgery residency and internship at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He has also completed a research fellowship in thoracic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center followed by a Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Medical School.Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Gross finds joy in various hobbies including hiking, honing his culinary skills in the kitchen, and cherishing quality time with his wife, daughter, and beloved canine companion, Mando.
