Overview
David M. Schreck, MD, MS, FACP, FACEP, FHM, is corporate vice president of Atlantic Health. He is responsible for care transitions across the enterprise, including emergency medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care, and post-acute care. He also plays a key role in care integration for the physician practices of Atlantic Medical Group.Dr. Schreck is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick. He is former chairman of emergency medicine and hospital medicine at Summit Health, former vice chairman of the Department of Medicine at Overlook Medical Center, and a former adjunct professor of chemical biology and physiology at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken. He has served as chairman of emergency medicine at Capital Health System in Trenton and Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield, vice president of business development and strategic affairs for Emergency Medical Associates of NJ, and president and medical director of Emergency Medical Associates’ urgent care, primary care, and hospitalist divisions.After earning a dual bachelor of science degree in chemistry and master of science degree in biomedical engineering-science from Stevens Institute of Technology, Dr. Schreck completed his medical degree at Loyola University Chicago - Stritch School of Medicine and dual residency programs in internal medicine and emergency medicine as a visiting clinical fellow of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. As a nationally recognized emergency physician and hospitalist, he has extensive research experience in developing and implementing medical devices including cardiac monitors, ECG diagnostic applications, and his invention of the nitinol cardiovascular catheter stent. He has more than 30 years of point-of-care experience in the emergency department and in primary/urgent care practice. He has an expansive bibliography of clinical research and has lectured nationally on a number of related topics. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
Dr. Schreck is board certified in American Board Of Emergency Medicine and American Board Of Internal Medicine. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 3 peer reviewed articles.
