Overview
I am a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner who works with adult clients. My previous background is in working with both adults and children in an inpatient setting. I enjoy the variety of all types of clients, though I have some specific interests in clients who struggle with mood disorders, thought disorders and personality disorders. I enjoy the outpatient role because it allows me to see clients thrive in their own lives. Ultimately, I love this role because I get to hear clients’ stories and can offer them something on their path to resiliency and wellness. I see myself as your partner in your mental health concerns, but you drive the bus. While a lot of my job is focusing on the biological basis of mental health, there are also family and societal systems in which we all work from. These forces factor into an individual's life, and I try to help clients see that bigger picture.
