Dennis J. Kitsko, DO, is a pediatric otolaryngologist and is certified in otolaryngology by the American Osteopathic of Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is associate professor of otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and co-director of the Hearing Center and Cochlear Implant Program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kitsko received his osteopathic medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pa., and completed his otolaryngology/facial plastic residency at Union Hospital Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and St. Barnabus Health Care System in Union, N.J., followed by his pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at UPMC Children’s. Dr. Kitsko’s clinical interests include children with hearing loss, cochlear implantation, bone anchored hearing devices, chronic ear disease, cholesteatoma, tympanic membrane perforation, and head and neck masses/lesions. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of several professional societies, including the American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He is also a current member and past president of the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and was previously medical staff treasurer for UPMC Children’s.
