Overview
Dr. Dmitry E. Primak is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association who is offering psychiatry services to adults. He has extensive experience in treatment of variety of conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, chemical addiction and other psychological disorders. He approaches individuals with a passion for helping them learn about their conditions and treatments as well guiding them to heal.Dr. Primak has been practicing psychiatry since 1973 after graduation from Zaporozhye Medical University in Ukraine where his interest in behavioral health care began. He has completed psychiatry residency training at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. For the past 18 years Dr. D. Primak has acted as attending psychiatrist and chief psychiatrist of the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Bergen Regional Medical Center, as a psychiatrist in emergency screening and outreach at CarePlus Center and as a psychiatrist in his own private practice. Throughout his career, his joy has come from watching a measured improvement of the lives of people he works with.In his personal life, Dr. Primak enjoys hiking, reading books and swimming. He recently relocated to California to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He interacts with the world through his values of optimism, realism and persistence.
