Overview
Donald Mendoza, M.D., is a vascular surgeon with a special interest in managing carotid artery disease, treating lower extremity disease and caring for patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms. Surgically he performs both open and endovascular cases, including carotid endarterectomy and transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR), as well as establishing and maintaining dialysis access. He focuses on providing long-term surgical care to people to improve their quality of life. Dr. Mendoza earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed an integrated vascular surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Dr. Mendoza uses shared decision-making to treat his patients, providing education, listening attentively and welcoming their active role in care decisions about their health. When he’s not at work, Dr. Mendoza enjoys hiking, cycling and going to the beach with his family.
