
Overview
Dr. Dylan Caggiano is a board-certified physician in addiction medicine and family medicine. He provides inpatient care for patients of all ages throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area who are struggling with substance use disorders, including opioid, alcohol, and stimulant use disorders. Dr. Caggiano incorporates motivational interviewing into his practice-an evidence-based technique that helps patients explore and strengthen their motivation for change. His approach combines clinical expertise with empathy, allowing him to build strong, lasting relationships while promoting healing and recovery. His passion for medicine stems from a deep calling to heal and comfort others. As an empath, Dr. Caggiano strives to understand patients from a unique perspective, which enhances his ability to provide compassionate, personalized care. Dr. Caggiano's research interests include improving the diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders, as well as physician wellness, the role of psychedelics in addiction treatment, and harm reduction policy advocacy. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the American College of Academic Addiction Medicine. Outside of medicine, Dr. Caggiano enjoys playing video games and speaks fluent Spanish, a skill he looks forward to using to better serve patients.
