Overview
Einat Blumfield, MD, is an Attending Radiologist at Children?s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM). She is also an Associate Professor of Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Blumfield specializes in pediatric imaging and neuroradiology and her clinical focus is on imaging of acute and chronic diseases and injuries in pediatric patients. Dr. Blumfield received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences in 1989 and her Doctor of Medicine degree at Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in 1995. She completed an internship at Rambam Medical Center in 1993, and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Rambam in 2002. In 2003, Dr. Blumfield completed her first fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, followed by a second fellowship in pediatric radiology in 2005 at Children?s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Blumfield?s research is focused on imaging of pediatric appendicitis, as well as the safety and quality of imaging with ionizing radiation, with emphasis on CT, and safety of contrast media, especially gadolinium for MRI. Dr. Blumfield takes a special interest in improving imaging of pediatric acute appendicitis with ultrasound, a safe modality, which does not expose patients to radiation or contrast. Dr. Blumfield has coauthored numerous original communications featured in reviewed journals and given many presentations nationally and internationally. She is a member of multiple professional societies, including the Society of Pediatric Radiology, the Radiology Society of North America and the European society of Radiology. In 2017, Dr. Blumfield won the Award for Excellence in Clinical Skills and Scholarship from the Department of Radiology at the Jacobi Medical Center.
