Overview
After completing his undergraduate degree in bioengineering at Rice University, Dr. Eli Coria earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. He completed his residency at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas. Dr. Coria, who is board certified in family medicine, sees patients of all ages and speaks Spanish. He treats a variety of chronic diseases, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes; as well as many acute conditions, including colds, allergies, skin lesions and minor injuries. His primary clinical interests are preventive medicine and patient education. Dr. Coria teaches his patients what signs and symptoms to look for and things they can try to prevent, which enables them to understand and take control of their health. Getting to know patients well and establishing a continuity of care allows him not only to treat everyday aches, pains and illnesses, but also to home in on aspects of prevention that will help people stay healthy. He wants his patients to feel comfortable with him and trust him, hoping that they leave each visit with a solid grasp of what is going on and what will happen next. Dr. Coria is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. In his leisure time, he enjoys cross-country mountain biking and distance running, and he attempts to play golf.
