Overview
At the Duke Children’s Evaluation Center, I work with children, adolescents, and young adults facing various mental health challenges, including neurodevelopmental and learning differences, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, school avoidance, depression, and grief. I take a flexible, patient-centered, strengths-based approach to treatment, and while medications can help, the DCEC also offers a variety of therapeutic approaches. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work in a setting where collaboration between colleagues and the exchange of ideas is encouraged, and it’s a privilege to partner with patients and families. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, gardening, caring for my grand-dogs, and exploring Durham. Before becoming a nurse, I was a violin teacher, though I’ve since traded classical violin for singing along to my favorite songs on the radio.
