Overview
Growing up, I was close to several friends and family members who had complex medical needs. I was able to witness the work of caring physicians and was inspired by their ability to positively impact others’ lives. My experiences working as a nursing assistant and with individuals with developmental disabilities solidified my choice to choose health care as a career. During my medical training, psychiatry stood out to me as a specialty due to its important focus on health in all aspects. Being a child and adolescent psychiatrist encompasses every reason of why I chose to become a physician. My approach is to work alongside patients and their families to help develop treatments that incorporate their values and goals within a developmental framework. I greatly enjoy helping others through difficult challenges and celebrating their milestones and achievements. I have a special interest in the integration of psychiatry into other clinical settings and working with children who have additional medical needs.
