Dr. Erika G. Hancock

I grew up locally in Olympia, Washington. I loved the people and the nature of the Pacific Northwest so I stayed in state for my undergraduate degree. My love for the sciences and interest in serving the community pushed me toward a career in medicine. After I obtained my bachelor’s at Seattle Pacific University, I worked as a medical scribe to gain more insight into the world of medicine. During this time, the pandemic began so I left scribing and went to work at a COVID-19 testing and vaccination company that served communities across Washington. That experience showed me the importance of accessible, compassionate, and community-focused care. I attended medical school at the University of Colorado, where I participated in the Rural Program which focused on providing full spectrum care to rural areas. I had wonderful Family Medicine mentors that showed me the amazing work providers are doing in their communities which made me want to become a Family Physician as well! I’m privileged to continue my medical journey as a Family Medicine Resident at Valley Medical Center and I’m especially grateful to come back home to the beautiful PNW. I have a particular interest in obstetrics and reproductive health, and I’m excited to provide comprehensive care across all stages of life. Outside of medicine, I enjoy running, painting, and spending time with my friends and family. I especially love baking sweet treats to share and am always down to try a new recipe.
