I always knew I would work in health care and began my career in medicine more than 20 years ago as a registered nurse. I decided to further my education after identifying enlarged lymph nodes on a coworker, which led to a diagnosis of lymphoma. My goal is to deliver patient-centered, compassionate, evidence-based, and high-quality care to my oncology and hematology patients. I strive to always listen to the concerns of each patient and recognize that this is one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. I have a passion for rural health care. I am blessed and honored to be part of the Duke Cancer Network and work with a great team of medical professionals to provide care in our underserved community. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Tinsley, and engaging in any activities that will create fond memories.

I value establishing relationships with patients and their families and making sure they are getting the same treatment, including symptom management, that I would want my family to receive. I am interested in long-term survivorship education of my patients and I also have a passion for teaching and mentoring future health care professionals.
