She serves as a board member on the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Central Florida and was named a Take Steps Honored Hero in 2022. During her training, Dr. Bowers was selected to work alongside Dr. Jennifer Ashton and the ABC News medical team to provide medical study reviews and develop scripts. She also has written articles for the organization’s website. Outside of work, she enjoys watching college football, HIIT workouts, traveling and spending time with her husband, who is a captain in the US Air Force. Dr. Bowers also is a foodie.
