
Overview
Ethan Leonard, MD, MBA, is the senior vice president for the Hospital Based Specialties (HBS) Center of Excellence at Children’s National Hospital. He will oversee the clinical, operational, strategic and academic priorities for HBS. Dr. Leonard has served for more than a decade as the chief medical officer of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s in Cleveland, Ohio. For the past two years, he has also served as the chief medical officer for MacDonald Women’s Hospital. He is the vice chair of Clinical Operations for the Case Western Reserve University Department of Pediatrics. He has substantial experience leading operational efforts to improve productivity, patient throughput, length of stay and avoidable days. Dr. Leonard completed residency training, a chief residency and pediatric infectious disease fellowship at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s. He has served on numerous national boards including the Clinical Advisory Committee of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society and the editorial board of PREP ID for the American Academy of Pediatrics. His academic interests include infections in the newborn, antimicrobial stewardship and vaccine immunology.

Rana Hamdy, MD, MSCE, MPH, completed a pediatric residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
