A graduate of U-M’s undergraduate and medical schools, Dr. Lawton completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and his fellowship at the Raymond Curtis National Center for Treatment of the Hand and Upper Extremity at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. He went on to serve as Chief of the Combined Orthopaedic/Plastic Hand Surgery Service and Director of Orthopaedic Surgery Medical Student Clerkships in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Kentucky.
