Overview
Dr. Florene Odulana is board certified obstetrician and gynecologist who joined MUSC in 2025. She grew up in Birmingham, AL and earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Spelman College. After working in the research field, she earned her Master of Science in Medical Science from Indiana University School of Medicine and her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from MUSC. She completed residency at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, earning numerous awards, including Obstetrics in Excellence and the Heart of Midwifery award. She remained at the institution for six years as a leader in patient care and a leader in education for medical students and resident physicians. During her time as faculty, she was awarded the Golden Stork Award, honoring her low cesarean section rate, and the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Odulana practices evidence-based medicine and understands the importance of listening to her patients, treating all patients with respect, and ensuring their concerns are heard. She practices comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, with expertise in irregular and abnormal menses, fibroids and surgical management, well woman care, sexually transmitted infections, contraception, VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and low-risk and high-risk obstetrics. Dr. Odulana is skilled at caring for women of all ages and appreciates the relationships she develops. She looks forward to meeting each of her patients.

Dr. Matthew Kohler joined MUSC Women's Care as a gynecologist oncologist in 1998 and now serves as the director of the division of MUSC gynecology oncology. He is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology, and gynecologic oncology. His specialties include radical and minimally invasive (robotic) surgery for gynecologic cancers, chemotherapy, and gestational trophoblastic disease. Dr. Kohler received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, then went on to Duke University for his medical degree, residency, and a gynecology oncology fellowship. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina followed by a urogynecology fellowship at the University of California Irvine and has been a full-time faculty member at MUSC since 1993. Updated text- Dr. Swift has a practice focusing on patients with urinary fistula, incontinence, prolapses, pelvic disorders, bladder dysfunctions, and voiding issues.Dr. Swift is a board-certified member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has subspecialty board certification in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, as well. He is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, International Urogynecologic Association, Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics among others. He is the director of the Division of Urogynecology. Dr. Swift has also chaired and served on several committees for the American Urogynecology Society, the International Urogynecology Association and the National Institutes of Health. He is the co-editor-in-chief of the International Urogynecology Journal. He is published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on various aspects of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse and, in addition, has written several textbook chapters and invited-review articles. He has lectured all over the world on various topics regarding urogynecology and has been the principal investigator on several grants.Dr. Swift's research interests include evaluation and management of incontinence as well as the epidemiology of pelvic organ prolapse.
