Southwest Virginia resident Radess Meade, FNP-C, watched her daughter undergo heart surgery at just three months old, which inspired her medical journey into nursing. Years later, while working as a registered nurse, she noticed a need for more primary care services and decided to go back to school to become a family nurse practitioner. “I believe listening to my patients and treating them like family is the best practice,” she says. Meade loves living in the Appalachian Highlands with her family and enjoys the closeness the communities offer.
