Dr. Blackwood also specializes in the treatment of common foot and ankle disorders including bunions, hammer toes, Morton's neuromas, plantar fasciitis, and Achilles tendinitis.Dr. Blackwood is from Roswell, GA and graduated with the highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed his medical training at the Georgia Health Sciences University in Augusta and completed residency in orthopedic surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He went on to complete a foot and ankle fellowship at Grand Rapids Orthopedic Associates in Grand Rapids, Michigan.During Dr. Blackwood's time at Georgia Tech he played collegiate baseball and is the only four year letterman to be named Mr. Georgia Tech. In 2018, he was inducted into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame. He was also drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2005 MLB draft. Most recently, Dr. Blackwood served as the Team Physician at the University of Mississippi and Lafayette High School in Oxford, MS.
