
Overview
Dr. Zuccotti currently serves as Vice President for Digital Health Transformation and Chief Medical Information Officer at Mass General Brigham (2018-present). In this role she manages the content lifecycle, maintenance, optimization and research activities for the health system’s enterprise clinical systems. She also oversees Partners’ Health Information Management (HIM) department and associated data services. Dr. Zuccotti works at the intersection of Information Systems, Quality Safety Value and Population Health Management with responsibility for oversight of the development and delivery of an electronic health record that supports diverse clinical care, business and research needs in a reliable, safe and efficient manner.Dr. Zuccotti has worked directly in Medical Informatics since 2008 when she joined Mass General Brigham, then known as Partners Healthcare, as Associate Medical Director for Risk Management Informatics. This novel position was created to forge partnerships between the Clinical Informatics Research & Development (CIRD) group at Partners and the Harvard Risk Management Foundation (RMF). While there she used the RMF database, which included 30 years of coded and catalogued malpractice claims information, to develop and implement safer electronic health record systems. In 2012 she became the Medical Director of Clinical Documentation Programs for Brigham and Women’s Hospital and served as the lead site-Clinical Informaticist involved in inpatient electronic medical record implementation. In 2013, she transitioned to be the Clinical Content Director for the enterprise 5-year Epic implementation.Dr. Zuccotti’s research interests focus on informatics initiatives designed to improve patient safety and mitigate risk. Such initiatives have included projects focused on physician documentation, clinical workflow, results management, decision making and care coordination, among others. She is a lecturer in the Introduction to Medical Informatics course and has served as a preceptor in the Longitudinal Course in Clinical Medicine. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and is active clinically in the Infectious Disease Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
