L. Gilbert Vézina, MD, is a professor of radiology and pediatrics at George Washington University and the director of the Neuroradiology Program at Children's National Hospital. He is a graduate of McGill Medical School and completed radiology and neuroradiology training at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Vézina is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and a past president of the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR). He has more than 200 journal and literary publications on pediatric neuroradiology. His clinical and research interests include fetal/neonatal imaging and imaging of patients with brain tumors, epilepsy, congenital anomalies, phacomatoses, traumatic brain injuries and head and neck disorders. He was awarded the Gold Medal by the ASPNR in 2020, the society's most distinguished honor, in recognition of his exceptional service and achievements.

Dr. Pearl is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, a Senior Member of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery and a member of the Core Steering Group for the Children’s Brain Tumour Drug Delivery Consortium, an international, multidisciplinary network of clinicians and researchers dedicated to developing drug delivery systems for children with brain tumors.
