Dr. Greg Gaski is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma injuries to bones, joints, and soft tissues including muscles, tendons and ligaments. He joined Inova in 2020 and has been practicing since 2006. Dr. Gaski was drawn to the challenging field of orthopedic trauma due to the complex nature of injuries with multiple broken bones, compound fractures, and fractures near a joint or of the pelvis, which require specialized care. He takes great pride in not only restoring and repairing fractures, but also in helping patients through their rehabilitation and recovery. Dr. Gaski approaches care with precision and compassion to create a personalized treatment plan for patients based on their injury and lifestyle. As an orthopedic trauma surgeon, Dr. Gaski specializes in fractures in adults and children. Aside from his clinical interests, research and education remain important aspects of Dr. Gaski’s career. Dr Gaski serves as the Director of Research for the orthopedic trauma surgery division at Inova Fairfax. He has given more than 100 national and local presentations, published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles in the fields of trauma surgery and orthopedic surgery, and teaches residents at national fracture courses annually. Dr. Gaski has served as a principal investigator and site investigator at several local and national research trials studying pelvic ring injuries, the inflammatory response in severely injured trauma patients, blood clot medication, and severe lower leg injuries. Dr. Gaski completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, OH, and graduated magma cum laude. Dr. Gaski graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2006 and went on to his five-year residency at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship training in orthopedic trauma in 2012 at the University of Maryland Medical System, Shock Trauma Center. A native of Cleveland, OH, Dr. Gaski currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, son and two daughters.
