Dr. Fernandez Nievas earned his medical degree from Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires in Argentina. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Maxwell School at Syracuse University. He is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE), a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and completed a chief quality officer development program at the Institute for Health Improvement. His clinical and research interests include severe asthma, ventilator support, pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome (PARDS), sepsis, ECMO and quality improvement.
