Dr. Issam Khayata
Overview
Dr. Issam Khayata is a specialty care physician board certified in critical care medicine, pain medicine and anesthesiology. He joined Inova in 2024 and has been practicing since 1997. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Khayata was an anesthesiologist at Old Dominion Anesthesia in Arlington, VA, and a pain management specialist at Adams Compassionate Health Care in Chantilly, VA. Dr. Khayata’s clinical areas of interest include neuromodulation through peripheral nerve stimulation; treatment of degenerative osteoarthritis of the hip, knee and shoulder; and treatment of compression fractures of the spine with kyphoplasty. Dr. Khayata completed his residency in anesthesiology at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. He then moved to Massachusetts to complete a fellowship in critical care medicine followed by a pain medicine fellowship. He worked at the University of Massachusetts.
