Jaime Stephenson is a family nurse practitioner. She joined Inova in 2023 and has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2018. Prior to joining Inova, Jaime worked as a cardiac nurse practitioner at Nova Cardiovascular Care. Jaime completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, in 2012. She decided to pursue a career in nursing due to her love and passion for helping others. She completed her bachelor’s in nursing in 2014 from Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, VA, and practiced on a medical/surgical/telemetry floor, where her interest in cardiology grew. She then went on to complete her master’s degree in nursing from ODU in 2018 and completed her practicum in family medicine. To advance her clinical practice in healthcare leadership and research, she completed her doctorate of nursing practice in 2019. Jaime enjoys working with adults who have chronic cardiac conditions, as she seeks to improve patient disease, outcomes and quality of life. Likewise, she is passionate about preventive care with reducing risk factors for cardiac disease. Her philosophy is to care and treat for each patient with the same dedication and commitment as she would a family member. She provides care with respect, compassion and empathy. Her goal is to always provide the best plan of care that reflects the patient’s health goals and believes in patient-centered and evidence-based practice. Outside the office, Jaime enjoys spending time with family including her baby boy and husband. She loves to dance and enjoys playing board games with family and friends. She always lobbies for self-care for everyone and loves to go on walks outside, crafting and binge-watching a good reality TV series.
