Overview

After growing up in a small town in Southern Virginia, I went to Davidson College with a desire to become a physician scientist so that I could use my education and energies to help treat patients and advance our understanding of disease and help work on new ways to treat serious illness. I came to Duke in 2004 to pursue an MD/PhD degree and developed an interest in critical care and treating patients with sepsis. I was drawn to Anesthesia and Critical Care because I found that I enjoyed the active and fast pace of anesthesia and also valued the ability to follow patients and help guide them and their families through difficult times in the ICU. In my free time I enjoy playing and recording music, photography, and hiking.

Dr. Taylor is board certified in American Board Of Anesthesiology, General Anesthesiology and American Board Of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 11 peer reviewed articles.
