She is co-President of the Society of Bedside Medicine, which focuses on education for evidence-based physical diagnosis skills and patient-centered bedside medicine. She serves as director of the internal medicine subinternship at the Bayview campus. She received her BA from Baylor University in 1998 and her MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 2003. She completed her internal medicine residency in the Johns Hopkins Bayview internal medicine residency program and served as a chief resident from 2007-2008..
