Dr. Jeff Schulman is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with advanced training in the treatment of fractures and dislocations. Dr. Schulman joined Inova in 2007 after completing his fellowship training in orthopedic traumatology at the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He serves as the Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus and is responsible for the logistics of educating orthopedic residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals in training. Dr. Schulman is involved in ongoing clinical research regarding treatment options for orthopedic trauma patients and has co-authored multiple publications during his career. Dr. Schulman became interested in orthopedics and sports medicine because of the opportunity to tackle challenging problems and make an immediate difference in the lives of his patients. With advanced training in complex injuries, he is proud to serve as a resource to orthopedic colleagues throughout the region and also serves as an orthopedic trauma consultant to multiple local professional sports teams. Ultimately, Dr. Schulman’s goal is to help his patients regain their physical function and restore them to the lifestyles they would like to live. A native of New Jersey, Dr. Schulman currently resides in Alexandria with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he likes to cook, travel and support the Washington Capitals.
