Philosophy of care | My philosophy of care is to be the best advocate for my patient and family during their illness. I want them to know that I approach their care as if it was one of my children. Illness can be a time of high anxiety and stress for the whole family. I take the time to comfort and educate my patients and their caretakers so they feel a sense of relief after their visit with me. | Why I entered medicine | I entered pediatric medicine to comfort my patients and their families at one of their most vulnerable times – the hospitalization of an ill child. I wanted to provide them with an advocate who is not only knowledgeable in the medical part of their care, but also understands a parent's worry when their child is sick. | Community involvement | I am on the board of our local youth softball association. I also enjoy participating in the annual influenza vaccine drive-thru clinics as a pediatric vaccinator. | Personal interests | My interests include watching reruns of Friends, cheering on my kids during their sports activities and exploring new restaurants with my husband.
