Overview
As a physician assistant, I have worked in orthopedics since I graduated in 2012. I started my career working with patients who had undergone trauma resulting in broken bones. I now partner with surgeons to treat patients with hip and knee pain, focusing on total joint replacement. I have a special interest in working with patients before surgery to get them into the best medical and physical shape possible to prepare them for their total joint replacement, while also helping to manage their joint pain. I am involved in patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and enjoy being able to work with patients from the beginning to the end of their treatment. I was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and have lived in the Midwest for most of my life. I worked as an orthopedic trauma implant sales representative for five years prior to getting my Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Since graduation, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of orthopedic specialties including trauma, total joint replacement and foot and ankle surgery. I have found a special interest in foot and ankle conditions along with trauma, and I am currently partnering with Dr. Fernando Pena, board certified foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon. I am involved in patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
