My philosophy of care involves listening to patients and providing treatment plans that can fit their lifestyle for improved quality of living. I have special clinical interests in neurology and headache medicine.|Why I Love My Work|I love the ability to converse with patients and help formulate a treatment plan at a time of need.|Getting to Know Me|I have worked within the medical field for over 20 years but outside of work, I enjoy various activities. I love farming, gardening, mowing lawn, watching races and playing with my horses for my spring and summer activities. In the fall I enjoy canning, grilling and hunting. For my winter enjoyment I like to plow snow with my 4-wheeler and stay warm.

I am a board-certified neurologist and clinical geneticist with special interest in movement disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, hereditary ataxias and spastic paraplegias, as well as other neurogenetic disorders. I have served as the medical director of the Struthers Parkinson's Center since 2000. In addition to the care of patients and families with neurologic diseases, I am also involved in clinical research to develop better treatments for Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease. I am interested in education for both patients and medical professionals. I currently serve as a clinical professor of neurology at the University of Minnesota.
